Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation Client has had a stroke that has affected his left leg and arm and he cannot get in and out of his front door without assistance.
Required Modification to steps to make it easier for the
client to enter and exit the house without assistance.
Solution Design and build two tier step to make
entry and exit to the house more accessible.
Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation The client has had a stroke and finds it quite difficult to get up from his sofa as its seat is fairly low.
Required Sofa needed to be raised to a more suitable height.
Solution Wooden blocks were therefore made up
from separate pieces of timber glued and screwed together. This created a slot through the centre of each
block so that they would slide over a wooden crossmember.
Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation The client has had a stroke and relies on her partner or other helpers to push her around the house in a small-wheeled wheelchair.
Required Enable easier transition over low step at the
entrance of toilet floor - which made it difficult for stroke victim’s partner to simultaneously tilt and
manoeuvre a wheel chair over the step.
Solution A ramp was constructed from two layers
of MDF glued together to form the required thickness to match the step depth, the ramp was also made to fit the full
width of the doorway.
Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation The client has had a stroke and struggles to sit himself up in bed.
Required Secure handle to enable stroke victim
to sit up in bed. Standard Bed Lever device of no use, due to the style of the client's bed.
Solution A wooden panel was built to clamp
securely to the side of the bed frame. No permanent fixings where needed on the bed itself.
Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation The client has had a stroke and finds it quite difficult to get up from his sofa as its seat is fairly low.
Required Adjustment to Stroke victim's
sofa height, which was too low making it difficult for client to get up out of chair.
Solution Design and build box-like wooden structures to fit under each end of the sofa.
These were made up from 9mm plywood panels with 38 x 63 mm wooden legs at each corner.
Case/Eng/Status TBC/BW/Complete.
Client Situation The client has had a stroke and relies on his daughter to push him around the house in a wheelchair.
Required Easier transit over internal ridge approximately 30mm high on the
inside floor, prior to front door (which made exiting difficult as the wheelchair’s wheels did not ride ridge easily).
Solution A shallow ramp was constructed from
five layers of 6mm MDF glued together to form the required thickness.

Case/Eng/Status TBA/RK/Complete .
Client Situation TBA.
Required Hinged table for bariatric Zimmer frame. .
Solution This job was complicated
by the fact that there was an outwardly protruding curved frame member at the front rendering it impossible
to hinge the table flush with the front. The front legs sloped outward providing an additional complication
to overcome. Protruding brackets were 3d printed to resolve the problem.
